After many months of searching and praying we have finally found some land upon which we would love to build our new ministry base on. We began our search in Mocohan, where Rolando has lived for the past 16 years, but we were not able to find land big enough for what we need. After much prayer, we started to look outside of Mocohan. About 15 minutes away from where we are, we found beautiful (flat!) land in a town called Pasmolon. The photo above is where we want to purchase and our dream is to build the bible institute there, along with dorm rooms to be used by local pastors who come for training as well as teams from the US, a library to serve this community, a vocational school, and have a large garden to provide food for the different ministries. The owners have given us through the end of February to purchase the land, after that they if we are not able to, they will offer it back up to the public. They are asking for $33,000.

I’ll be honest, our hearts were so saddened at the thought of leaving Mocohan and especially those beautiful children. We counted attendance at Awanas throughout the year and about 350 children came through at one time or another with an average of 200 coming each Friday. Not just the kids, but 96 mothers volunteered throughout the year to help cook the meals we serve every Friday. We are planning on doing several events geared towards them next year.  So, then the Lord showed us that maybe we don’t have to leave them after all! We found a small piece of land (again flat!!) and were able to negotiate a great deal with the owners. Our plan is to build a library there to continue our ministry to Mocohan, but build the larger ministry base in Pasmolon. From the money we have raised so far, we have enough to buy the land (in Mochan) and build the caretakers’ house (which we will live on until we can build in the new location). But we still need funds to build the library and the classrooms. We are working on a budget for that construction now and will share it with you soon!

We are excited, nervous, and pretty much any emotion you can imagine. But we are confident that this is what the Lord is leading us to do. So, will you pray with us?
